My role as Senior Creative at Photolink involved working directly with the Homebase team, as well as attending weekly creative review meetings and presenting creative concepts. I had overall responsibility for the design and artwork on all publications. Managing a team of designers throughout the artwork production process, ensuring creative concepts and brand guidelines were strictly adhered to as well as art directing photographic shoots.Other accounts previously managed include:Argos – Scamping layouts from line level detail, artwork, design and art direction.HyperCity Argos – Creating brand guidelines for the Indian Argos model and overall responsibility for the design and artwork including art direction.Webb Ivory – Taking creative and photographic page briefs right through to print.Kitbag – Managing the Chelsea FC merchandise catalogue, POS and kit launches. Creating Everton FC retail brand guidelines and in store graphics.

On behalf of Orchard Recruitment I worked on a number of projects for design agencies throughout the North West including Photolink Creative Group. I also built up my own client base which involved working on a number of projects for Air Advertising, in particular their company website, as well as completing a number of packaging projects for Acrobat Creative Consultants.

I joined MAP’s online department Online Creative as a New Media Designer to create and produce their new company website, including the initial concept, design and build.Working closely with outside specialist companies to gain the very latest flash knowledge and expertise. I also worked on many other websites including the new MAP website, The Phone People and HSE.

Joining Infogrames was a fantastic opportunity and enabled me to gain more design experience. During my time there I created packaging in up to 6 different languages as well as POS and outdoor advertising.

Moving from GBM to Ikon was a huge decision to make after being given the opportunity straight from school, but a move I had to make to further my career. I gained a wealth of knowledge including repro, interactive CD design and typeface design/creation for Fontworks – one of Ikon’s clients.

A natural progression from Finished Artist to Graphic Artist was the next step in my career with GBM Group PLC – a merger made up from Characters Typesetting, BBA Studio and GBM. This proved to be an exciting time as all paste up artwork had gone digital which meant I had to re-train and learn new methods. My clients included GUS catalogue where I was responsible for digitizing logos. Another was Volvo, producing press ads of all sizes for all the leading newspapers.

A promotion from Darkroom Technician to Studio Junior where I was trained and went on to become a Finished Artist producing finished artwork for clients such as Royds/McCann, Norweb, Volvo, Swinton Insurance and Manchester Airport.

I joined Characters Typesetting as a junior straight from school. Day to day responsibilities included processing and proofing film to CPN bromide for clients as well as producing prints to size using a camera which enabled the company’s finished artists to produce finished artwork. During my time there I was also tasked with cleaning all font glass grids.
