Role overviewAs the Store Manager I report directly to the Retail Business Manager. I am responsible for the operational running of the store including managing the team of product guides, ensuring customers receive a premium experience, ensuring we exceed targets as a store, all whilst upholding the Arc’teryx vision. Key responsibilities- Working with the business manager to determine what products to purchase for upcoming seasons and placing orders from wholesalers. - Developing weekly reports to capitalize on key selling products and creating strategies to improve sales on underperforming products. - Utilising system data (Cegid) to identify possible sales trends in upcoming seasons. - Striving to operational excellence, seeing potential business risks, and developing strategies to overcome them.- Managing and motivating the team to reach and exceed targets and KPI’s. - Ensuring the store is reflective of the Arc’teryx brand guidelines and working with Amer Sports to deliver and drive Arc’teryx campaigns in store. - Ensuring world class customer service is being delivered, enhancing the Arc’teryx brand experience. - Developing strong relationships with the team to drive commitment to the business, brand, and encourage progression. - Managing the stores HR functions including performance reviews, development plans, interviewing and hiring, and staff departures. - Training new team members on Arc’teryx products, vision and guidelines, and store operations. - Educating myself and the team on new Arc’teryx products and tech.

Built within the Manchester United Stadium the Manchester United Megastore is spread over 17,000 square feet and is the biggest shop devoted to football in the UK. On a match day the Megastore attracts over 10,000 people. The store holds over 800 product lines and has over 1.1m visitors annually. Role overviewAs a Visual Merchandiser I report directly to the Senior Merchandise Manager. My role is responsible for all merchandising across the Megastore and maintaining strong working relationships with Manchester United global Partners and Sponsor brands. Key responsibilities- Working closely with brands including Adidas, True Religion, New Era, TAG Heuer, Paul Smith, EA Sports and Columbia on product launches and ensuring their brand guidelines and Manchester United guidelines are upheld. - Maintaining a close working relationship with Adidas and helping their VMs with store openings and new product launches. This involves national travel and regular visits to Adidas HQ. - Creating premium displays across the store. - Reviewing sales reports to identify trends and areas of improvement. - Attending meetings with buyers to provide input on future products. - Monitoring stock inventory.- Working closely with all section leads internally to ensure relevant products are being promoted. - Creating planograms and floor layouts for distribution to sales teams and senior management.- Coordinating product launches from design through to execution, including football kit launches, training wear, footwear and partner brand product launches in store.- Providing induction training to all staff on both the Manchester United brand and Adidas global standards. - Working in a fast paced, high-volume retail environment.

Up until 2015 the Manchester United Megastore was formally managed by Nike UK and all employed staff (including myself) were employed by Nike.Role overviewReporting to the Sales Floor Manager my role was responsible for managing full sections of the Megastore including products and staff. During my time in this role I managed both the Nike Apparel and footwear sections. Key responsibilities- Managing a team of up to 15 staff and delegating work areas. - Motivating the team to meet KPIs and targets. - Ensuring the relevant products are on display and in accordance with Nike global standards. - Working closely with Nike on product launches, assisting with product trials and also supporting other Nike stores. - Working closely with and trained by the regional Nike VM.- Visual merchandising and detailing. - Providing training to new staff. - General HR activity including staff appraisals and disciplinaries. - Performing stock takes.- Reporting on stock sales and deciding on future merchandise. - Dealing with customer complaints including refunds and exchanges. - Money handling including cashing up.
