After relocating to Geneva, Switzerland in 2014 my wife Sally and I moved back to New York City in March of 2018. While living in Geneva I started work as a volunteer Film Programmer for The Graduate Institute of International Development and Studies, The International Migration Organization (The Global Migration Film Festival) Human Rights Watch, The Geneva Human Rights Festival and The Melbourne International Film Festival in Australia and continue to do so now. My ambition now is to find an opportunity to contribute to an organization here in New York City. Best,Brian W. Brown

As the film programmer I helped The Graduate Institute create the CINE@IHELD film program which was initiated on September 22nd, 2015. My contributions included identifying films for the theme of "political transitions" for the fall semester. Films for that semester include "The Square" about the Arab Spring in Egypt", "NO" about the 1985 election which saw the end of the Pinochet era and "No End in Sight" about America's disastrous decision to invade Iraq in 2003. For the Winter/Spring semester of 2016 I'm proud to say that we will be screening "India's Daughter", "Inside Job" (Academy Award Winner Best Documentary), "Red Lines" (about the efforts of volunteers who are trying to create change in Syria) "Burden of Peace" (About the female attorney general in Guatemala who brought the first case of genocide against a former leader of a country) and "The Gatekeepers" (Academy Award Nominee Best Documentary). All of the films we program at the institute have a similar theme. They address the big issues that face the world today. I would like to add that I have found working for the Graduate Institute immensely gratifying because of the important of the subject matter.
