I have three years job experience as a patent analyst for CPA Global. As a patent analyst I was presented with new concepts and patents and had to quickly understand the basics of how they work and how best to search for previous patents and inventions which operate in an identical or similar way. Searching for prior art in patent literature involved using classification codes as well as detailed search queries using keywords and Boolean operators in databases such as Questel Orbit and Minesoft Patbase. When it was necessary for large projects or when the client had concerns or feedback I would be on calls with the client. In these calls we would explain our methodologies, results, as well as receive and react on constructive criticism presented. The main program used to organize all results for client deliverables was Microsoft Excel. In college through classes as well as undergrad research I have experience using and coding in Matlab, as well as hands on use with various modeling software such as AutoCad, Inventor, and NX8.
