About Brian Dawson
As an experienced mediator, I am able to assist litigants, lawyers and insurers, who are facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles to settlement, find an acceptable way forward. As a result, the parties can avoid the significant expense, time and risk involved in contested litigation.Having qualified as a mediator back in 1996, I have facilitated negotiated settlements in a diverse range of civil and commercial litigation disputes over the past 20-plus years.I have mediated most areas of civil disputes, including personal injury and clinical negligence cases, contractual and consumer disputes, professional negligence, property matters, contentious probate and civil costs issues. However, I have particular and extensive experience in dealing with clinical negligence and inheritance disputes.Drawing on my former role as a senior partner of a leading law firm and my current appointment sitting as a deputy district judge, I believe I bring the determination and perseverance of a seasoned litigator, together with the diplomacy, patience and impartiality required of the judiciary. As one of the four founding minds behind the creation of the pioneering mediation scheme based at Chester between 2004 and 2008, my role in liaising between the key stakeholders was described by HHJ Halbert (former Designated Civil Judge for Chester Civil Justice Centre) as “vital to its success”.Over the past three decades, I have built a reputation as an advocate of mediation and as a caring, pragmatic, energetic and successful mediator. What others say:“…skills as both a negotiator and as a mediator are formidable.” (HHJ Halbert, DCJ).If you or your client would like to discuss how mediation can help you to resolve your case in a cost-effective, quick and risk-free way, call me on 07887 945 667 or email brian_dawson@btinternet.com.To find out more about the services that I can offer, you can also connect with me here on LinkedIn.
