Every day, Vanguard Investment Stewardship engages with the boards of public companies and votes proxies on behalf of the Vanguard Funds to advocate for corporate governance practices that will drive long-term shareholder value. As a senior leader on our team, I lead the team’s global operations, technology, and data strategy to enable our team to do their best work. Part of my leadership role includes working to develop Vanguard’s views, policies, and implementation strategy on important corporate governance matters such as board composition and diversity, risk oversight (including oversight and disclosure of relevant ESG matters), and executive compensation.My team aims to ensure we have the right data and insight necessary to effectively operate our stewardship program at scale. Prior to leading our operations, data, and risk/control functions, I led the engagement and voting team for portfolio companies in the financial, technology, and real estate sectors. I have been with Vanguard since 2007, and previously served as a leader in Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, and Tax.
