I am currently working at the Potash Corp West Expansion Project taking part in the construction of a brand new processing facility that processes potash. Potash, phosphate and nitrogen products help provide the primary nutrients that crops need. They are also used to make livestock feeds and industrial goods.Duties:- Inspections of all piping systems and verify that these piping systems have been constructed to meet customer specifications and code (B31.3).- Review and implementation of procedures- Preparing documentation for pneumatic, hydrostatic, and service testing- Witnessing all testing performed on piping systems to make sure strict procedures and safety rules are adhered to.- Setting up appointments with TSASK (authorized inspector) to review the installation of all vessels and obtaining permits to operate.- Inspection of piping butt weld joints, socket welds, etc.- Notifying TSASK of testing on any registered systems.- Performing final walk downs of partial or full piping systems with the client.- Scheduling NDE to perform radiography, Mag particle, and liquid penetrant inspections

Project: Pressure Vessel Fabrication, Port RobinsonDuties:Reviewing procedures and documentation recommending changes when requiredReceiving and inspection of material to meet ASME specifications.Drawing review.Generation of Inspection Test Plans (project specific).Layout inspections of pressure vessels before fabrication.Fit-up inspections of pressure vessel components using precise quality inspection measurement tools.Mag particle inspection of raw material before fabrication under supervision of a level 2 inspector.Liquid penetrant inspection of welds on pressure vessels under supervision of a level 2 inspector.Generating inspection reports for all inspections performed.Review Radiographic film after Radiography is performed under a level 2 inspector. Reviewing all required inspection points with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) before moving forward with the next crucial operation.Final reviewing of Inspection Test Plan and reports before customer review.Generating non-conformance reports for any issues that do not conform to the Quality program implemented.

Project: Bruce Power Units 1 and 2 Feeder Tube Restart Project (Feeder Tube Installation)Duties:Trained all QC/QA staff on procedural adherence, code adherence to E.S Foxes standards of class one nuclear.Trained all QC/QA staff on proper reactor vault entry, safety precautions, and actual work being done on a class one nuclear reactor.Trained all QC/QA staff on proper tool calibration techniques as well as custom tool training.Making sure that all QC/QA staff follow and adhere to an Inspection Test Plan for all operation being performed in a reactor vault.Making certain that all QC/QA staff adhere to ALL Bruce Power’s strict safety rules and regulations while working on site. Updating and maintaining all QA tracking spreadsheets and submitting production reports to management on a daily basis.Solving quality issues as they arise and submitting solutions to these issues promptly.Inspecting quality inspection tools for wear and damage and reviewing calibration dates. Reviewing Class One Nuclear Dockets, Inspection Test Plans and Reports before final approval.Finalizing all Inspection Test Plans and Reports once the customer has approved them.Preparing Master History Dockets for approval.

Project: Bruce Power Units 1 and 2 Feeder Tube Restart Project (Feeder Tube Fabrication)Feeder tubes are an integral part of the primary Heat Transport System. The feeder circulates pressurized heavy water (D2O) through the reactor fuel channels to remove heat produced in the reactor. There are 960 feeders for each reactor (unit#1 and unit #2)Duties:Operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to manipulate and interpret XYZ data.Administering CMM department to ensure measuring practices, calibration and all documentation is properly and consistently completed.Extensive use of measuring tools such as Ultrasonic Thickness machines, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.Training new employees on measuring equipment and various tools.Inspecting nuclear grade piping for quality assurance and code adherence.Acting as an integral part of the research and development team to increase production and efficiency while maintaining quality levels as per the specification.Microsoft Excel is needed and used daily to track Nuclear Documentation on spreadsheets.Reviewing Class One Nuclear Dockets, Inspection Test Plans and Reports before final approvalCalibrating quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, inclinometers, etc. to meet quality standards.
