Senior Avp, Senior Financial Crimes Specialist
CurrentAs a Senior Financial Crimes Specialist, I have many of the same expectations as a Financial Crimes Specialist but with added expectations to support my direct team members and related teams. This includes duties, including but not limited to, coaching, training, feedback, advice, and maintaining & supporting an excel pivot table that is used for our investigations. As a Financial Crimes Specialist, I have a revolving queue of enhanced due diligence cases to meet Wells Fargo’s legal obligation as defined in the BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and Patriot Acts as well as Wells Fargo’s internal goals to minimize operational risk. The cases varied from complex 90-day reviews that require specific documents from our customer base to streamlined 30-day monitoring reviews. This requires a proficient understanding of the BSA & Patriot acts, MSB (Money Service Business), TPP (Third Payment Processors), and PEP (Politically Exposed Persons). MSBs include customers that offer check cashing, money order, money remittances, foreign currency exchange, and loading & reloading to stored accounts (i.e., gift cards, phone minutes). TPPs include entities that facilitate payments from one party to another (i.e., bill payment, online marketplaces, payroll providers). PEPs include persons that hold high-ranking government office, politicians, individuals with influence over public policies, close family members to PEPs, and businesses owned by PEPs.
