Mr. Duff serves as the IEW MT Equipment Specialist with the responsibility to develop and implement the Technical Assistance plan for the Sensor family of systems throughout their lifecycle. Serve as the commodity command’s Technical Subject Matter Expert and focal point for technical assistance for IEW systems such as but not limited to, the AN/TSQ-179D(V) Tactical Ground Station (TGS), Prophet ground-based tactical Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) Family of System, Trojan Family of intelligence dissemination satellite terminals, Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) mobile and fixed, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems, and Counterintelligence (CI) & Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Automated Reporting and Collection System (CHARCS).Provide expert technical advice, assistance, and instruction to Army commands on the operation and maintenance of CECOM-managed IEW equipment and the timely resolution of hardware, software, maintenance, and supply problems. Utilize technical knowledge of the design and manufacture of IEW to advise and direct military personnel in maintenance procedures on the Legacy, Bridging, Future, and IEW systems listed above. Advise commanders or their representatives on such matters as status of maintenance of IEW equipment maintenance and operation procedures associated with new systems, and related problems, based on specialized training or experience with the particular system. Recommend courses of action to improve operation and/or resolve deficiencies. Write technical reports identifying maintenance and logistics trends, technical and administrative matters, etc., including recommendations for improvements at the local level and/or action by higher headquarters.

Mr. Duff serves as a Distributive Common Ground Station-Army (DCGS-A) Field Software Engineer (FSE) for the Program Manager (PM) Program of Record (POR) systems for the US Army. Roles include providing customer field support services, including software baseline installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or technical assistance for assigned Army intelligence weapons systems. Provides technical assistance in planning, installing, testing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise hardware and software systems. Mr. Duff provides Post Development Software Sustainment (PDSS) to enhance Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to the Warfighter in order to provide Commanders an Enterprise Solution to obtain Actionable Intelligence. Proficient with DCGS-A Software version 3.1.7.3; 3.1.7.4.1.1and newer version 3.2.4, 3.2.5 while deployed forward to Southwest Asia (SWA) in Kuwait and Afghanistan. Served as theater Information Management Officer (IMO) while maintaining the theater Active Directory (AD) for over 500 users and 15 Intelligence Fusion Servers (IFS) and 350 Portable Multi-Function Workstations (P-MFWS) across 4 different countries. Served as Configuration Management (CM) manager to verify and implement all IAVA’S and Hot Fixes prior to implementation on all servers and PMFW-S’s which complies with the Information Assurance (IA) officer to combat vulnerabilities.

Roles also include maintenance of the network to include the Domain Controllers, Active Directory account maintenance and account creation, and the network configuration for Windows Thin clients, Windows clients, Windows Servers, Solaris, and Linux-based systems. Guardrail and eMARRS specific software and the Operational Ground Station (OGS). DCGS-A 3.1.7.3 trained. NETAPP v8.3 Cluster and Clustered ONTAP Data Administration trained. He maintains U.S. Army Military Intelligence application software through the policies and procedures set forth by SEC CECOM and DoD. He configured, created, and customized server/client workstations with application software for the unique needs of each local site. He provided site-specific and general software training for newly assigned Army Maintenance Personnel. He provided software application training and over-the-shoulder training during exercises and real-world operations. He conducted troubleshooting procedures to identify and correct system anomalies at user locations. He implemented and executed disaster recovery plans for user computer systems, ensuring data integrity and availability. He assisted with policy updates and managing personnel accounts through Active Directory.
