I was transferred from Molex to Koch Business Solutions after the acquisition to better align me with the teams i need to work with on the integration of my division into Molex. My main support duties remained to support my division but as time has passed I also started supporting Molex and then Koch as a whole were i assumed a position on the Koch NOC team. My main duties remained supporting the various wired and wireless networks in Koch along with some legacy items from the previous company.

The division of Laird i worked out of was acquired by Molex. I stayed with the division and kept my network engineering / support role supporting the divisions 7 global sites. I also took on the local site support role to fill a void during the transition and began assisting were needed with the projects. As the integration advanced i also became more involved in the projects that where put in place for the network, wireless, AD, server and other connectivity related topics.

Another promotion to remove most of the local site support duties i still had so i could focus more on projects, maintenance and monitoring of the companies global network. Some of the projects included switch and wireless upgrades, WAN changes, implementing Watchguard firewalls at our sites, site moves, network design and implementation and acquisition integration among other things.

With my focused shifting to networking i was promoted to the network and security team. My main focus became Cisco switches, wireless and phones but i still maintained a local site and remote support role. Projects also became more prominent and i assisted in acquisitions, site moves and hardware upgrades. Managed Symantec anti-virus and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.

I started out as site support to help with the acquisition of Receptec by Laird Technologies. I was involved in many areas of IT including network, server, phone, pc, wireless and security tasks / projects including AD and mail migrations. I also took on managing some software such as Symantec Antivirus and Zendesk helpdesk software company wide. my main role slowly shifted to more networking and wireless management of Cisco equipment.

Was promoted to a LAN Administrator role where i took on more of the infrastructure management along with desktop support and assisting other areas of IT. With this role I also started writing knowledge bases and technical specifications, was more involved in the project side of things and supported multiple sites around the world.

Moved into a permanent desktop support role in a building with 1200 users supporting many technologies and doing remote user/site support. I then proceeded to keep learning as i was also added to projects and started working with other teams. I also assisted the call center and started helping out the network team with Cisco equipment installs and cabling.

I started off receiving, doing inventory and tracking all IT related equipment such as computers, laptops and network gear. As i started asking questions and learning my roll evolved and I then helped with break / fix issues and then became an extension of the desktop support team.
