I leveraged my extensive operations planning and leadership insights to provide detailed plans maximizing the success of combat and ongoing support operations across the Middle East and in Afghanistan. As such, I worked hand-in-hand with strategic partners in the US Central Command, Department of the Army, and other key stakeholders to gather critical intel and coordinate short and mid-range strategic planning.As part of my leadership, I optimized the efforts of an 11-member team, comprised of seven officers and four civilians. I also played a key role in delivering orders for organizational changes, operations, and support tailored to meet the needs of combat operations in different countries. Select missions included Operations Enduring Sentinel, Spartan Shield, and Inherent Resolve, among others.

I joined the university’s faculty as a Professor delivering specialized military science courses and trainings to recruit, develop, retain, and commission the next generation of leaders for the Cleveland Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Battalion. I utilized differentiated learning methods to maximize leadership development of each student.Supervised efforts executed via six educational partnerships and five JROTC programs in addition to courses offered through John Carroll University. These included leadership development sessions, a mentorship program, field training exercises, the Hymer’s Leadership Challenge, recruitment/retention projects, the Bold Warrios Challenge, and more.Directed a team of four officers, three Department of Army civilians, and a university staff member.Prioritized and maximized return on investment (ROI) for a $68K annual operating budget for the ROTC program, as well as $1.3M in endowments & scholarships supporting officer education.Was recognized for outstanding performance by senior leaders, due to continuing to grow the program despite unprecedented challenges posed by the onset of the pandemic. I also received a special mention for an “unparalleled ability to develop others through mentoring and training with limited resources has been to the success of the program.”

I planned, organized and led the training unit to deliver key artillery fire support training programs as part of Warfighter exercises for up to 10 active duty and National Guard Brigade Combat teams annually.As such, I directly coached, mentored, and provided ongoing feedback to Commanders and command staffs, which continued to play a critical role in improving leadership capabilities. I was proud to have made a powerful impact on the professional growth of services members during this period, helping each solider enhance readiness and understanding of handling fires in challenging environments.

As an Instructor, I delivered graduate-level instruction and one-on-one coaching in best US Army tactics to groups of 16 high-performance active and reserve, sister service, and field grad officers. For key contributions, I…Helped develop a wide range of scenarios to engage leaders in a variety of operational situations, ensuring each leader was able to adapt tactics as threats rapidly emerged and evolved.Was relied upon as an operational subject matter expert to provide specialized instruction for training programs on field operations and defense support best practices to civil authorities. Was handpicked by the Combined Arms Center Commander in recognition of my operational and technical expertise to take on a major role with the Mission Command Training Program.

In 2014, I was promoted to be the 2nd in command for the 25th Infantry Division’s Artillery group headquartered in Hawaii; the only Division Artillery positioned outside the continental United States at that time. I assumed full ownership of maintaining brigade-level peak readiness and capability to achieve all strategic objectives. Was a strategic leader heavily involved in continuing to develop and increase the capabilities of the Force Fires Headquarters and all staff to achieve operational excellence. My operational leadership included strategic planning, material logistics, facility management, forecasting & meeting ongoing personnel needs, HR management, budgeting, and more.Continually executed innovative solutions to secure key resources for training, inventory needs, and personnel to overcome key obstacles and keep the organization operating at peak performance.Leveraged team building programs, mentorship, and open communications to foster trusting relationships with all personnel and worked continuously to professionally develop younger staff members.Led the Division Artillery through multiple complex missions with no issues.

I was selected to be a senior leader, 2nd only to the Commander, of a Field Artillery Battalion, influencing all battalion-level decisions and strategic planning. In my senior-level capacity, I was Responsible for coordinating, directing and supervising the battalion primary and special staff, emphasizing areas of personnel operations, physical security, intelligence assessment and analysis, logistics, maintenance, medical and force modernization for the unit.Oversaw 438 battalion personnel and other special staff, with responsibility for coordinating operations, security, intelligence assessment/analysis, logistics, and more.Controlled spending for a $2M annual budget, managed a fleet of 175 combat vehicles (howitzers, radars, etc.) with a combined value exceeding $70M.Directed all logistics involving both personnel and equipment to participate in training programs at the Pohakuloa Training Area on Hawaii and the National Training Center in California. Was rated by a top leader as being among the top 5% of all officers the leader had worked with in 20 years, exceling at achieving operational excellence and continuing to develop subordinates.

After finishing my time at the Command & General Staff College, I was promoted to be a Fire & Effects Coordinator for the 4,200+ member Stryker Brigade Combat Team’s command group and all related units, with the group continually involved in worldwide deployments. During this time, I was relied upon as a strategic partner to the Brigade Commander, while managing all training and ensuring the brigade was mission ready at all times.Optimized the performance of 23 Officers, 55 Non-Commissioned Officers, and 47 enlisted soldiers making up the Fires Support teams.Became considered a “top 10% officer and one of the best Brigade Fire Support Officers” by the Commander for continually producing outstanding results, no matter the complexity of operational requirements.Organized and led the brigade’s first Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise at Pohakuloa Training Areas in well over 10 years, involving the integration of multiple combat elements. This included leading the team to train all Company and Battalion-level Fire Support teams to properly integrate and synchronize execution of the different combat elements.
