Yale's Combined chapter of the Student National Medical Association and Latino Medical Student Association- Designs and manages the annual budget of the organization and reports to the regional and national chapters- Leads the recruitment of mentors and mentees for the Pathways Program that provides URM students the opportunity to learn about MD, Ph.D., and MDP.h.D programs at Yale and beyond and provides tailored mentoring and assistance.

Our project characterised the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda and also assessed how HIV status affects clinical outcomes for people hospitalised with COVID-19 at Mulago Hospital, Uganda's largest hospital and the country's largest COVID-19 treatment center. I was one of two medical student recipients of the prestigious Downs Fellowship from the Yale Schools of Public Health and the Yale School of Medicine to design and undertake an original international health research project.

- Works on a genetic association study to determine if there is a link between malaria susceptibility and human genetic variation in the gene CD55, which we recently identified as a new host factor for malaria. - Conducted an independent research study to investigate the role the promoter of the gene CD55 plays in the susceptibility of the red blood cells from African populations to Malaria infection. - Lab Technical Skills include: Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Digestions / Ligations, Transformations, Cloning, Gel Electrophoresis, Nucleic Acid Quantification, Gel Extraction, Mini/Midi/Maxi Preparations, Parasite Analysis, Fluorescence Microscopy
