Mr. Forster was responsible for strategic business and technology planning and execution, working with senior management clients, primarily in the financial services sector. Key accomplishments include:- Conducting a review of an eight year agreement for retail banking outsourcing and sale of assets of an Atlantic credit union data processor to a national/international IT services organization. The review concluded that it was in the best interests of the shareholders and customers to approve the transaction and the transaction was approved at a special shareholders meeting. - Developing the business case financial models for a joint venture of the prairie credit union centrals’ technology units, to replace their multiple existing retail banking platforms with a new, single rationalized solution.- Developing a retail banking strategy and participating in contract negotiations for a group of over fifty credit unions in Saskatchewan, which resulted in better service levels and lower costs over an eight year period.- Developing the vendor and financial analysis, and recommendations for a national financial transaction switching solution for credit unions across Canada. - Analysis and development of position papers on fraud within the Canadian credit union banking and payments system, payment risk with the credit union system, and the direction of electronic banking for credit unions.- Developing a detailed business plan to create a RESP processing centre consisting of a call centre, administration processing centre and technology unit.- Merger planning and assistance for the planned merger between credit union centrals in Ontario and British Columbia. Work included detailed cost analysis for integration of the payments and banking units and pricing of the combined products.
