About Brian Fredricks
Brian Fredricks earned his Mmed Masters in Music Education at the University of Georgia in 2021, and his B.M. in Music Education at Kennesaw State University in 2012, Summa Cum Laude, with a 3.9 GPA. At KSU, he studied violin under Professor Helen Kim, a graduate of the Julliard School in New York. At the age of 8, he began taking private lessons from a myriad of teachers in the Atlanta area. Mr. Fredricks has taught and performed regularly in the Atlanta area since 2012. Mr. Fredricks became Orchestra Director of the Bartow Youth Symphony program which hosts classes for dozens of elementary and middle school aged students including symphony, orchestra, recorder class, Suzuki violin class, and chorus. He has provided his talents for multiple ensembles performing in the Atlanta area, including Enceladus, a progressive rock touring group, and Enterprise Partner Group, a business affiliate of Microsoft. In 2010, he founded The Atlanta Sound Quartet, an Atlanta-based group which plays over 100 events per year, including banquets, parties, and weddings.Mr. Fredricks began professionally arranging music for orchestra, string quartet, and everything in between. Ensembles around Atlanta have purchased his pop music arrangements since 2010. He became Orchestra Director at East Cobb Middle School in 2012 with 120 students, and Orchestra Director at Bear Creek Middle School in Fulton County in 2014. At Bear Creek he managed highly promoted concerts, four orchestra field trips per year, and Fairburn community events. In 2016 Mr. Fredricks joined Bunche Middle School as Orchestra Director in their 10 million dollar renovated building. Under his direction, Bunche became the only Title I school represented in the 2018 Atlanta Heritage Festival, which is held at the Georgia Aquarium. In 2017, Brian’s string quartet was chosen to perform in the pilot episode of CW’s “Dynasty.” In 2018 Mr. Fredricks took over a well-known orchestra program at Rex Mill Middle School, a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Fine Arts, Mathematics) magnet school in Clayton County.
