Lead Paralegal hired to assist a solo practitioner who specialized in Consumer Law i.e. Bankruptcy, Credit disputes/collection actions, Divorce and Probate. My duties in the Bankruptcy Division consisted of meeting with clients for initial intakes, means testing these potential clients, preparing chapter seven and thirteen petitions along with and managing multiple cases and drafting motions to the Bankruptcy Court. My duties also focused heavily on motion practice mainly involving credit card collection actions; I worked very closely with clients through all stages of litigation; I drafted complaints and counterclaims, interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production, motions for summary judgment and responses to motions for summary judgment, appeals and contesting default judgments.
