Brian Gilmore is a Relationship Manager in BankUnited’s Commercial Real Estate Group where he is responsible for loan origination and relationship management focused primarily on New York based clients. Brian originates commercial real estate balance sheet loans for stabilized and transitional properties, as well as construction loans for strong and experienced borrowers/sponsors. Prior to joining BankUnited, Brian spent 12 years at Capital One Bank in their Commercial Real Estate Group, where he was a Senior Vice President responsible for loan origination and relationship management focused in New York. Prior to transitioning to the relationship management team, Brian held several roles at Capital One. He most recently was a Managing Underwriter for Capital One’s Fund Finance and REIT groups; responsible for leading the teams underwriting efforts on CRE secured credit facilities (mortgages, repos and borrowing base facilities) for Capital One’s debt fund clients. Prior to transitioning to the fund finance group, he was a Managing Underwriter in the bank’s commercial real estate group covering the bank’s northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Brian’s teams were responsible for all aspects of the underwriting and closing of permanent, value-add and construction loans ranging in size from ($5-$200 million).Prior to joining Capital One in 2009, Brian spent three years at GE Capital in their North American Equity Acquisitions Group, responsible for underwriting joint venture equity financing for the acquisition and development of various types of commercial real estate properties. Prior to GE Capital, Brian was employed as a credit analyst at JP Morgan Chase in their Commercial Real Estate Group, working on balance sheet lending facilities including mortgages, subscription loans and other facilities. He currently resides on Long Island in Babylon, New York, and holds a B.S. in finance from The University of Miami (Miami, FL) and an M.B.A. from Boston University (Boston, MA).
