I have served with the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office for over two decades handling complex investigations and prosecutions, and rising to Senior Investigative Counsel and previously helmed both the Vehicle Theft & Fraud Unit and the Environmental Crimes Unit. In that time I have prosecuted cases of many types including: auto theft and fraud; environmental crimes; mortgage fraud; public assistance benefit and welfare fraud; identity theft; embezzlement; organized crime cases; attorney theft of escrow funds; unlawful surveillance; and computer crimes such as incidents of corporate hacking, electronic sabotage, child pornography offenses, and online harassment. I have taken prosecutions and investigations to plea and to trial. I was designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York for over half a decade involving the prosecution of computer related offenses against children as a member of the Project Safe Childhood Task Force. This resulted in numerous convictions of the very worst offenders who commit these crimes against children. I was also honored to receive the 2009 Champion for Children Award by the Parents for Megan’s Law and the Crime Victims Center for both my local and federal prosecutorial work as part of the Task Force. As a result of my varied experiences in both state and federal criminal practice I have handled local motion and warrant practice, federal motion practice, New York Supreme Court Article 78 motion practice, and wiretap application and minimization practice. I am also a regular public speaker making presentations to all age groups, from teenagers to seniors, for both citizens and professionals, regarding consumer fraud, vehicle theft & fraud, online safety, constitutional law, environmental crimes and medical records security.
