Primary responsibilities included (i) financial accounting, reporting, and planning, (ii) developing strategic recommendations, and (iii) managing the Accounting/Treasury, Operations, and Information Technology departments. Attended board meetings and served as a member of the Technology Committee (Chair), Asset and Liability Committee, Pricing Committee, Compliance Committee, and Executive Committee. Previous titles with the bank were Staff Accountant and Controller. Reported directly to the President/CEO as Syringa Bank’s highest-ranking financial officer from 2005 to 2014, which was a period that included strong economic growth, irrational expansion, severe recession, recovery, and moderate growth. Served as primary financial model administrator and used the in-house instrument-level model to effectively to measure and monitor interest rate risk, prepare financial forecasts, project liquidity and capital under stressed conditions, report business-unit performance, and generate financial reports. This broad experience and rigorous modeling helped build a strong understanding of the balance between risk and return under a variety of economic conditions.
