Dr. Brian Hubert is Executive Vice President of Engineering for MTPV Power Corporation, and is Co-Chairman of its Board of Advisors. Brian brings with him more than 17 years of technology entrepreneurship and venturing experience with deep financial, product development, intellectual property, technology innovation and business experience in both small and large companies. Prior to leading MTPV's engineering activities, Brian was EVP of Product and Business Development, and he has been instrumental in developing and launching the company's EBLADE™ Power Platform product line for conversion of industrial-scale waste heat to electric power.Prior to joining MTPV, Brian was a venture capital investor for Applied Ventures, the investment arm of Applied Materials. He pursued investment opportunities in the renewable energy, nanotechnology and semiconductor sectors. He was Board Observer for portfolio companies across the lithium-ion battery, fuel cell, test, laser, EDA software, and advanced materials spaces. Prior to Applied Ventures, Brian was a member of the High‐tech and Health Care practices of international business consulting firm McKinsey & Co. where he provided the management of major corporations with leadership, judgment and solutions to resolve their most difficult strategic and operational issues. Prior to joining McKinsey, Brian co‐founded Kovio, Inc., a Kleiner Perkins-backed nanotechnology and RFID / NFC startup that developed embedded semiconductor products using printed silicon electronics for the age of the Internet of Things (IoT).Brian has been awarded the Lemelson‐MIT Prize for excellence in invention and innovation. Articles and world‐wide broadcast media about Brian have appeared in USA Today, New York Times, Associated Press, PR Newswire, Wired, and CNN.Brian earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from MIT, and conducted his pioneering doctoral work in the field of nano-assembly at the MIT Media Lab.
