CurrentDeveloped high-level software engineering team responsible for building and maintaining microservices utilising containerised architecture. Grew the team into one of the leading cloud-based development teams in the Irish banking industry. Adopted innovative and modern SDLC best practices such as paired programming, contract-driven development, and sprint storypoints. Team made up of technical specialists, Java/API developers, software testers, business analysts, and scrum masters. Key responsibilities: • Managed day-to-day operations of a high-performing development team, escalating issues and resolving incidents as they occurred. • Monthly 1:1s with my 15 direct reports. Performance management including regular formal reviews. Engaged performance improvement plans as required. • Oversaw program of projects and initiatives involving cross-functional stakeholders across the business, including commercial, regulatory, change, and BAU projects. • Limited WIP across the team and monitored workloads and capacity in order to make data-driven resourcing decisions. • Worked with senior management in Digital Enablement to best prioritise work to deliver value to customers and drive efficiency. • Took on engineering challenges and encouraged the team to embrace change and innovation. • Led team meetings, represented the team at wider sessions and workshops with senior management, and conducted all team interviews for new hires.
