Producer and Director AL PURDY WAS HERE, a documentary feature that premiered at TIFF in 2015, played theatrically across Canada and at international festivals, and aired on the CBC. Producer of THE AL PURDY SONGBOOK (2018), a 3-disc set with an album of Purdy-inspired music and readings plus a Blu-Ray and DVD of the film. Senior Writer and Film Critic at Macleans (1985-2015). Author of five books, including a history of the Toronto International Film Festival, BRAVE FILMS, WILD NIGHTS: 25 YEARS OF FESTIVAL FEVER (2000), a novel, VOLCANO DAYS (1996), and poetry, MARZIPAN LIES (1974).
