I have more than 34 years of dedicated employee benefits experience representing public and private businesses, as well as governmental and not-for-profit entities, and at Sandberg Phoenix P.C., I have full service firm resources with a stellar group of like-minded individuals who put people first and wow our clients every day! For my practice, I focus on the practical, and routinely assist clients with the design, implementation and administration of retirement plans, non-qualified plans and other deferred compensation alternatives. I also have unique knowledge and experience with the design, implementation and administration of health and welfare plans, including self-funded and fully insured health benefit plans, health savings accounts and other "consumer driven health plans," cafeteria plans, and other medical reimbursement arrangements. In each of these areas, I advise employer-sponsor/ organizational clients concerning their inherent fiduciary responsibilities in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to employee benefit plans. I also spend a considerable amount of time working with clients and speaking to prospective clients in the review and analysis of key legal and strategic business objectives as organizations are reviewing compliance alternatives related to the offering of health insurance coverage and/or employee benefits captive arrangements in compliance with all state and federal law mandates, including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, CAA 2021, the CARES Act and other COVID-19 related guidance, as well as the Affordable Care Act of 2010, HIPAA and other applicable law.
