Multiple titles during my tenure at JL Audio has included Service Manager, Special Projects Manager and Engineering Support Manager. My current role as Senior ATE (Automated Test Equipment) Fabricator includes tasks such as initial concept and design of the mechanical aspect of an ATE and working with our mechanical engineers to make the ideas come to fruition. From there I work with outside vendors to fabricate the custom metal and/or custom PCB's needed to assemble an ATE. Using the BOM's I created I procure parts from our various vendors and maintain an inventory of all parts needed to build and/or repair an ATE while working within an allotted budget. Included in the fabrication process is PCB assembly using thru hole and/or SMT parts. For any PCBA's that require extensive SMT processes I will sub out those jobs to local vendors instead of assembling them myself. I am responsible for the assembly of the ATE from the mechanical aspects to all point to point wiring. I have also fabricated many custom wiring harnesses for use with the ATE's using Molex or other brand connectors. At the same time I create schematic drawings as well as the documentation of the assembly process that can serve as a step by step instruction manual if needed. This requires excellent communication and technical writing skills that can be understood by the laymen as well as the technically savvy.
