Providing assistance to the Hawk TAA on behalf of the RN Hawk ODH.

Member of a team put together at short notice to support the SP MAP PT. Responsible for updating Airworthiness documentation to support aircraft of the Royal Naval Historic Flight. Tasks included:- Conducting Safety Assessments of Regulatory Non Compliance associated with Historic Platforms, (Swordfish and Sea Fury), in order to support exemption request to the Military Aircraft Authority. Development and submission of Alternative Acceptable Means of Compliance requests to the Military Aviation Authority for Swordfish and Sea Fury platforms. Research to support Safety Case claims for the Swordfish and Project Management of existing modification programmes on the Sea Fury platform.

Responsible for providing specialist advice and guidance to the Fleet, Naval Air Stations, Naval Air Squadrons and Headquarters on all matters concerning Air Engineering Quality Assurance. Tasks include: - The development of Quality Management to comply with Defence Standard 05-130 Part 2, Mil Part M, Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations, for RN aircraft types. This work will also involve interaction with Mil Pt 145 Organisations providing support to RN CAMO’s. Conducting audits of all Naval Internal Quality Auditing authorities. Conducting Independent audits of the RN Release to Service Authority. Conducting audits of Tri Service aviation units. Management and development of the Naval Aviation Quality Manual. Promotion of Auditing principles and methods by conducting regular presentations to RN and RAF career courses. Support of Operational Sea Training conducted on RN aircraft carriers.

Responsible for providing support to the implementation and development of the Fleet Air Arm Safety Management System.Tasks involved the following activities:- Management and analysis of Naval Aviation safety data. Hazard Identification, utilising online Occurrence reporting system. Development of the Military Aviation Authority Error Management System for Naval use. Establishing Risk mitigation strategies for identified hazards, and making recommendations as appropriate. Conducting Safety audits of all Naval Air Squadrons on a regular basis. Conducting Occurrence Safety Investigations post reported incidents. Safety promotion duties, including regular lectures as part of the Royal Navy Flight Safety Course, Flight Safety presentations to ships staff, regular written contributions to the Royal Navy Flight Safety Magazine and development of RN Flight Safety website.Trained Air Accident Investigation assistant, providing support to the Lead Investigator either on site or as Headquarters staff.

Lead Auditor for the Fleet Air Arm and author of the Fleet Aviation Quality Manual, BRd 763. Providing QA presentations to RN and RAF career courses. Member of the Aviation Joint Quality Working Group tasked with developing Joint Service QA policy. Conducting audits of Operational units including audits in Iraq and Afghanistan. Conducting audits on behalf of the RAF and Joint Helicopter Command. Providing assistance to Flag Officer Sea Training staff during Operational Sea Training of Aircraft Carriers

Responsible for providing technical and administrative support to Sea Harrier units. Exercising Airworthiness duties as delegated by the Project Team Leader. Tasks included vetting technical investigation requests, maintenance and upkeep of technical publications, appraising modification proposals, preparation of Service Deviations, assisting in the creation of Routine and Urgent Technical instructions, and contributing to the production of RN Harrier aircraft or equipment support policy statements.
