During the time working in the Operations center I was responsible for sending 2,000+ Quality applicants to recruit training which in turn increased the Marine Corps end strength. Some of the duties during this position was to ensure weekly, monthly, and yearly ship quotas were consistently achieved 100% of the time. I also ensured recruiting operations were planned, executed, and supervised resulting in all 15 sales offices making annual monthly and yearly quotas. To ensure this success I had to manage, update, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports in order to properly analyze data for possible modifications to plans to increase overall effectiveness. Operations conducted monthly sales manager meetings and conference calls that ensured overall success. We also assigned tasks to 15 sales managers and supervised them to ensure completion. Directed and oversaw quality assurance that led to higher quality applicants, and a 60% decrease in enlistment waivers. During this time I received the Navy Marine Corps Accommodation Medal for managing all 15 Recruiting Sub Station making their assigned quota. This is the first time this has happened in Recruiting Station Orange.

Most of the time a Marine Recruiter is the first Marine a community has met, so it is very important to be professional and set a good example. While serving as a recruiter I was entrusted in establishing liaison with educational authorities and other civilian, local and state agencies. These efforts led to better relationships with the local community and military. I also canvassed/prospected the population for prospective Marine Corps applicants which resulted in selection as “Recruiter of the Year” for two consecutive years. By becoming the Recruiter of the Year I received a Navy/Marine Corps achievement medal and subsequently received an accelerated promotion. Recruiters have to screen each applicant to determine eligibility relative to established standards. I also achieved monthly contracting and shipping mission which led to the overall success of organization. Not only we have to recruit the applicant we also have to ensure they are mentally and physically prepared for recruit training, resulting in a 95% graduation rate. I worked independently, and achieved goals and objectives with minimal oversight.

This position requires the accuracy of entitlements, and payments of claims within 5 business days. I also assigned Proficiency/Conduct marks and counseling to junior team members. During this time I received a Navy/Marine Corps Achievement medal for playing a critical role in supporting the Marines that transitioned from the El Toro Air Station to Miramar Air Station. We ensured the accuracy and timely payments for travel and pay entitlements to more than 3000 Marines. We also had a 75% increase in Manpower that needed to be managed.
