Service Area Representative - Foodshare Outreach Specialist
CurrentBringing Second Harvest Foodbank to southwestern Wisconsin as the service representative. Second Harvest Foodbank extends beyond Madison out into more rural counties, I am fortunate enough to know and live in the area. With an understanding of what SHFB is and how they can best partner with the local agencies, I am able to bring them together to benefit all.As a Foodshare Outreach Specialist, I provide education and assistance to families. The focus is on getting food into the home, and primarily assisting people with getting Foodshare. In doing this there are often other areas that get addressed. People face obstacles and in our efforts to assure food for families, a FSO specialist will provide resources to help move beyond these obstacles. In order to reach these different families an FSO Specialist will partner with local organizations and agencies. These relationships are vital to reach the maximum number of people possible.
