After teaching history for three years in the Worcester Public Schools, and ten years of various experiences educating, I was recently guest teaching at religious studies in theology, scripture, and ethics at Boston College High School. Most recently I was teaching sixth grade ancient history in Lexington Public Schools. I have taught Ancient Civilizations, World History, Geography, and Civics, as well as assisted in special education, adult education, and language tutoring. I am currently beginning to teach theology, catechism, christology, and world religions at St. Peter-Marian Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School.I have also been working on a local history research project for over ten years. My historical research focuses on local history--the history of Worcester and its people. My research goal is to study the history of the Worcester Boys Club.My history teaching goals are for students to learn about the world and the many people who influenced it. Discovering their connection with the past enables students to understand their place in the world today and build a future for themselves and our communities.-to engage students in the important questions about our world and our relations with each other. -to introduce students to a critical approach to primary sources as the basis for our understanding of the past. -to teach geography and civics.-to introduce interdisciplinary approaches to the study of history, geography, and civics.I am involved in peace education work as Clerk for the Center for Nonviolent Solutions to Conflict for over a year. We develop peace education programs for students and educators in Worcester.I enjoy turning out to community gatherings and riding my bicycle around central Massachusetts.
