I was humbled and privileged to serve as the first lay president of Saint Viator High School. My main responsibility was to work with the Board of Governors in providing for a continued successful direction for this wonderful institution. I worked closely with the Board of Trustees, Principal, Vice President for Mission & Identity, Controller and Office of Institutional Advancement to ensure the ongoing success of the school community. Highlights during my tenure included a successful Strategic Planning process, the creation of new statements of mission/vision/values, the hiring of nearly 70 new employees (including 10 of 13 Admin Team members), the redesign and expansion of the Student Counseling Department, the introduction of our Entrepreneurship curriculum in the Klues Family Center for Innovation, and the renovation of the Murphy Wellness Center. The Administrative Team worked closely with our Trustees, Faculty and Staff to maintain a face-to-face learning environment for our students throughout the pandemic.

As the philanthropic arm of Advocate Health Care, Advocate Charitable Foundation builds relationships and partnerships across Chicagoland and Central Illinois that will inspire charitable giving by individuals, foundations, corporations and organizations. These gifts help to support the mission of Advocate Health Care to improve the health status of the communities it serves.Vice President of Development – Advocate Lutheran General Hospital – Park Ridge, ILThe Vice President of Development at each Advocate hospital is the chief development officer for that hospital, primarily responsible for identifying and qualifying prospects and donors, setting prospect strategies, leading cultivations, securing major gifts through solicitation, and continued stewardship of donors. The position requires demonstrated leadership with volunteers, executives, physicians, and Foundation staff; motivation to aggressively develop relationships with donors; and willingness to act as a part of the Foundation, Hospital and Advocate Health Care team toward identified system priorities.

Worked with Marquette University alumni, parents and friends to add value to their Marquette experience and to engage them more effectively in the university's mission, programs, and outreach. Also worked with a team of university advancement colleagues, raising funds to address the university's top capital (Law, Engineering)and ongoing (Scholarship Aid) priorities.

Responsible for all Advancement Functions within the high school - development (fundraising), alumni relations, communications, student recruitment.

CCS is the leading "generalist" fundraising firm in the U.S. providing resident direction for feasibility studies and capital campaigns, as well as consultative service to a wide variety of leading not-for-profits. My clients included arch/dioceses, high schools and K-12 school systems, parochial schools, parishes, hospitals, religious orders and communities.
