I direct IT operations and strategy for a premier metal recycling and transloading company. I manage technical operations for Metro in our Utah and Idaho locations. I perform as a mentor and speaking trainer on process and industrial organization. I am a liaison between departments to best understand individual goals, increase efficiency, and discover opportunities. To this end, I create solutions to problems inside and outside of IT and am a resource to all co-workers for their individual and company-wide success.

Consult on expansion, risk, and efficiency assessment. I work with companies to understand their unique business processes. Based on project goals I report on risk and process modifications to create efficiencies which include changes to process, personal relations, and software/hardware design.

I have held many hats while working with Radiate include technician, engineer, IT Manager, and project manager. Working in each role has allowed me to identify the subtleties in each department allowing me to identify changes in best practice and company policy. Using the same skills and knowledge as the current project management role I am responsible for enterprise-level IT projects from the beginning at project acceptance to finance department hand-off. As the face of the project, I work closely with client key members, IT vendors, and an internal project team; everyone with pivotal roles and skills to move each piece of the project to completed expectations.

I oversaw all aspects of the management, maintenance, and direction of the university IT department. The physical network consists of two campuses, 19 buildings, 400+ computers, 5 computer labs, 20+ Cisco switches and routers, 20+ device VMWare virtual infrastructure, Avaya PBX phone system, Microsoft infrastructure; AD, XP, 7, 2010 servers. I managed, trained, and mentored a cohesive team of IT professionals and a number of student assistants to maintain and innovate within the IT department, which also included the IT support help desk. I oversaw all operational groups including security, monitoring, and architecture/operations. I created and maintained policy on all matters pertaining to computers, electronic devices, and security. I worked within South Carolina state and USC policy to obtain support and equipment and in vendor relations. Over the course of my tenure with the university I changed the state of IT creating a knowledgeable and modern IT infrastructure and department. I provided training and incentive programs for employees and student workers seeking additional education and skills. I motivated my staff to excel in their areas of interest and push core IT concepts and best practices. I have created a paperless and medialess infrastructure creating greatly reducing inefficiencies in document and media management. I have created innovative methods of task management allowing greater IT support availability, more efficient task completion, and project/task tracking. I designed applications, physical and logical, creating efficiencies in the areas of human resources, finance, public relations, and IT. I instituted weekly management meetings and a weekly IT forum where IT member present on topics of current IT technology, solutions, and IT training. Presentations were available real-time via video conference across campuses and recorded for colleagues, faculty, and staff training.

Supported a network comprised of over 200 desktops, laptops, and servers with operating systems ranging from Windows XP, Windows Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008, MacOSX, and several Linux distributions. Maintained Cisco and 3COM switches and routers, Blade, NAS, SAN, email, printing, active directory, backup, disaster recovery, security, and virtual infrastructures. Maintained continual uptime of production environment comprised of web and database servers. Worked with vendors and client relations to create creative solutions and solve technical problems. Planned projects, which included budgeting, timelines, resource management, task management, and risk analysis. Chaired two operational groups (e-mail and data operations) and contributed to several others(security, management, monitoring, and IT architecture operations). Created and implemented unique solutions for various operational groups and departments, such as collaboration tools (websites and applications). Designed graphical user interfaces to complex applications and/or command line interfaces. Created proof of concepts for cutting-edge software and hardware solutions, and many projects of a similar nature. Supervised, trained, and mentored staff members.

Repaired, upgraded, and managed the maintenance and health of a 30+ Windows and Linux network at a large state university. Duties included network troubleshooting and installing of hardware and software for custom solutions. Managed Windows 2003 Domain Server with Active Directory for Windows and Linux workstations. Created and implemented website using HTML, Flash, and CSS. Consulted on graphic design and technical projects.

Managed IT and various projects including programming, web, database development. Oversaw systems administration for 70+ workstations and servers using various operating systems including MacOS, Windows, Linux, and Unix. Responsible for maintenance, upgrades, software installation and support for network, web, email, file, and print services. Created and implemented procedures to increase productivity and efficiency. Advised on productivity, quality assurance, development, and training. Managed a variety of projects and tasks effectively working with vendors, departments, and clients such as web site design, multimedia design, training, application development, and many pre-press related projects.

Managed Windows and Macintosh Product Development, Art, and Technical Support departments, Internet/Intranet sites, and special projects. Created documentation, reviewed software, and hardware for internal use. Acted as liaison between departments and as a company representative for potential clients, trade shows, and events. Troubleshot, upgraded, and maintained PC/Mac computers within department. Developed and designed stylized applications that became the company’s primary product delivery software. Managed, programmed, and designed software, art, and audio for interactive educational titles.
