I’m proud to be a retired Air Force Officer blessed with so many amazing experiences in a variety of different aircraft. Flying the C-130 taught me the inner-workings of the crew concept and how each squadron member’s contributions are important. As an Instructor Pilot and International Flight Commander at a pilot training base (flying a business jet), I solidified good communication skills; I was able to share my passion for flying with younger aviators while helping them to achieve their dream of earning their pilot wings. Returning to my roots in Air Force Special Operations Command to fly the U-28 allowed me to be a part of something bigger than myself. I proudly flew over 2,000 combat hours in a single engine plane in order to protect American and friendly forces. I welcomed teaching at the formal school house and instructed in both the aircraft and the simulator. This assignment reinforced in me the following Special Operation Forces Truths: 1. People are more important than hardware. 2. Quality is better than quantity. 3. SOF cannot be created after an emergency. Transitioning out of the Air Force and into the contract world of L-3 Communications was a good fit for me. I still feel strongly about the mission I support and was excited to get back into a multi-engine aircraft again. I relished the opportunity to instruct/evaluate my peers and help them to provide the best product possible for our customer. The deployment operations tempo finally put too much of a burden on my family so I looked for an opportunity to be closer to home. I still love to fly and still believe strongly in the need to prepare our future air commandos for combat operations so I elected to return to the U-28 formal school house. I decided I am better suited for jobs which give me a chance to travel the world so I returned to the BE350 for Leidos. I have enjoyed this opportunity because it affords both stateside flying as well as overseas operations. I look forward to the opportunity to fly all over the globe.
