I was originally hired as a seasonal team member, and was selected to be kept on as a part-time salesfloor/Back-of-house employee. I then moved on to salesfloor/cashier in the electronics department, which meant that I was in charge of running that department during my shift. I then moved up to department supervisor of the electronics department within 2 years thanks to my knowledge and dedication to making the department my responsibility. 2 years later I was promoted to department supervisor with keys, meaning I was entrusted with the responsibility of opening and closing the store. As a department supervisor I trained many employees, at least 2 of which are members of upper management with another company (Assistant Manager at Big Lots, and Store Manager at Gymboree.) 3 years after being promoted to department supervisor, I moved up to assistant manager where the store manager and I made the store more profitable than it had been in years. Currently I am training to move into a store manager role as the acting store manager of the Waldorf, MD Toys R Us.
