I am the director of a NIH-funded research laboratory and a graduate-level teacher. I have extensive research experience focused on the neuropharmacology and neurophysiology of the GABA and glutamate neurotransmitter systems. I have been formally trained with whole-cell and field potential electrophysiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, recombinant receptor/channel expression, and have experience with behavioral pharmacology, optogenetics, and chemogenetics. My lab currently utilizes all these technical approaches to address problems related to drug abuse and neuropsychiatric disease.Specialties: Grant writing/review, professional development, science education
