Responsible for directing activities of 3 Senior analysts, 1 Technical analyst, 1 sampler on days in the roles of solution preparation, instrumentation calibration and repair and special projects. Responsible for laboratory SPC to ensure data integrity. Responsible for acquiring new laboratory instrumentation and developing procedures to support production or environmental analyses. Served as Laboratory manager for approximately 2.5 months during maternity leave of permanent laboratory manager, directing 41 employees, controlling budget and purchasing, and ensuring all customers needs are being met.

Supervised laboratory of 20 gc instruments, 4 hplc systems, 1 quadrupole mass spectrometer, and 1 ion trap mass spectrometer. 24/7 operations supporting approximately 12 process units in complex chemical plant. Responsible for developing new methods, improving current methods, and maintaining all instrumentation up to and including hands on maintenance and repair of instrumentation to maximize uptime and productivity. Utilized epa methodologies to monitor plant effluent and waste streams. Responsible for training senior analysts on methods and theory to improve knowledge base in laboratory.
