I have been working in education for 35 years. The first 13 were as a class-teacher, followed by 5.5 years as deputy head( in 2 different schools) and most recently 18 as headteacher. In this time I’ve coordinated history, music mathematics and assessment.Whilst class teacher I worked part time with the Local Education Authority conducting wind and brass ensembles to intermediate level. From school I liaise with the local authority and established brass, woodwind and string ensembles within each of the school settingsI have also taught brass and piano on a 1:1 level As a musician I am a first study trumpet player playing with the ensembles listed on my profile as well as other ensembles across Merseyside when invited to do so.I am a second study pianist and have accompanied choirs and hymns in school and in two different churches within Shrewsbury Diocese.I am married with 2 sons. My wife is a teacher and both of whom are musicians My eldest son plays the trumpet and graduated Leeds College of Music with a 2:1 in 2020. My youngest son studies bassoon at the Royal Academy of Music in London.In my spare time I keep fit with visits to the gym, a personal trainer, cycling, running and walking. I enjoy experiencing concerts, visits to the theatre and places of interest.
