ACDIS is a national healthcare association for clinical documentation specialists. ACDIS is comprised of more than 6,800 members that hail from multidisciplinary backgrounds in healthcare, including nursing, health information management/coding, case management, quality staff, and physicians/clinicians.My primary responsibility is overseeing the direction of the association. This includes planning, development, and execution of our annual conferences, developing industry guidance for the clinical documentation integrity (CDI) profession, and providing an authoritative industry voice for CDI specialists. I have experience in events planning and management, board management, policy development, sponsored media, product development, public speaking, writing, and editing. I also host the popular bi-weekly The ACDIS Podcast: Talking CDI, an entertaining 30 minute program for CDI professionals with more than 6,500 registrants.We are proud to offer a national certification for CDI specialists, the Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), which adheres to the highest degree of program integrity. ACDIS also organized the first national week of recognition for the CDI profession in September 2011. In 2019 we launched our second national certification program, the Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist-Outpatient (CCDS-O) credential.We connect CDI specialists nationwide and help them learn from each other.
