In August 2012, Brian was received a B.Tech (Ed) Honours Degree in Materials & Engineering Technology with concurrent Teacher Education.As part of his undergraduate studies, I undertook a Final Year Project by Research and was given an award by the University.From 2012 – 2015 I took the role of Teaching Assistant to the Metalwork and Woodwork pre service teacher courses in the University of Limerick. This entailed planning and preparing lab and tutorial content to the students, with a strong emphasis on active learning, group work and critical reflection.From September 2015 to June 2016, I was a teacher in Ballinrobe Community School, covering a maternity cover. This role allowed me to gain valuable experience in teaching Senior Cycle DCG and Engineering and also Junior Cycle Metalwork and Technical Graphics.Throughout my teaching and learning experience, I have come across a variety of teaching strategies and methods that enable good classroom management as well as developing a positive learning environment for the pupils as well as for me to learn from and develop further.It is my goal as a teacher to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to any educational setting.
