Technical Services Resident
As a member of EMC’s Residency Team, my mission was to provide wide ranging support for EMC’s large customers, in this case the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (EXCHANGE). My daily tasks included primary administration of the Exchange’s three production Documentum systems supporting over 40,000 users in a large scale retail implementation comprising 62 servers and twenty three unique applications, including Captiva InputAccel, Imagitek’s Prodagio and EMC ASR products in mixed AIX and Windows environments. This implementation directly supported the Exchange’s ability to pay its vendors on time and was therefore highly visible to senior management. Additional tasks included upgrading the various environments to the most current versions and supplying the necessary documentation to support the Exchange’s ownership and ongoing maintenance of the systems.
Documentum Administrator Iii
I provided Documentum Administration level three services for the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (EXCHANGE), as described above. Mr. Nelson stabilized the production systems by upgrading environments, applying critical hot-fixes, modifying maintenance jobs and establishing efficient Software Development Lifecycle procedures. One important aspect to Mr. Nelson’s mission was to build bridges and establish technical competence between EXCHANGE’s development and infrastructure teams. Another aspect was to train EXCHANGE personnel in Documentum best practices, ranging from emphasizing the importance of reading the appropriate documentation first to the nuances of EMC’s support website in searching for solutions.

I wrote several queries used for reporting purposes and made several advanced Brava configurations modifying the out of the box Brava behaviors and menus, and modified the default InputAccel eScan login screen. I contributed significantly to project-related documentation, being the primary author of the ISDM Build documentation, several white papers (Implementation Guidelines, Workstation Requirements, D6 analysis), architecture diagrams, the Audit Plan and the ISDM Site Deployment Plan. Mr. Nelson also contributed to other key ELC documents such as the Audit Plan, Logical Design and Tailoring Plan. I worked closely with internal CM resources maintaining and updating the various environment matrixes. I coordinated the development, test and resolution activities, providing assistance to the various team members when needed.
Senior Software Engineer
From September 2006 through October 2007, I provided Documentum Content Server Administration for the General Services Administration’s Public Building Service.
