Part of the Consultancy Team responsible for various actuarial activities such as:• Advising trustees of pension schemes on the investment strategies by preparing and presenting investment policy statements.• Undertaking triennial actuarial valuations for funded and unfunded pension schemes and provide advice on surplus allocations if any and remedial plans in case of a deficit.• Prepare actuarial valuation reports which are in line with professional compliance standards as per the Retirement Benefits Authority of Kenya (RBA) and Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). • Undertaking IAS 19R gratuity actuarial valuations and provide a reconciliation of the defined benefit obligation which include items such as interest cost, service cost, past service cost, curtailments and settlements and actuarial gains/losses.• Reviewing and calculation of the net interest distributed to individual member’s account for various pension schemes.• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders.• Assist the marketing department in handling business process such as proposals, prequalification, expression of interest both solicited and unsolicited that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.• RCL representative of the Pension Investment Management Survey (PIMS), a survey conducted jointly by three firms, namely, RisCura, Octagon and RCL. The survey provides an independent assessment and analysis of pension scheme investment performance for the primary benefit of scheme trustees. The survey also provides insights on the calculation of the Income Replacement Ratio (IRR).• Advising trustees on new pension schemes legislations (I have led presentations and workshops for trustees of various pension schemes in Kenya).• In charge of maintain and updating RCL’s website and social media platforms.
