Data At Rest Engineer
Provide Data at Rest (DAR) Engineering/Technical Support for deployment of the DAR solution to all EUDs in the DHA enterprise, which include the following responsibilities:Provide Tier 3 Operations support for the DHA DAR enterprise solution, currently consisting of Credant Mobile Guardian and Symantec Endpoint Encryption.Validate DHA's DAR deployment plans and provide technical guidance and support throughout all phases of rollout.Provide relative DAR troubleshooting training to other support staff, including Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3, including creating the required documentation, guides, manuals, etc. Reconfigure DAR servers and components for conditions as determined to enhance performance and scalability.Create a disaster recovery plan for all supported device types within the Enterprise DAR architecture.Consistently review and update DHA DAR FAQ's and provide additional Knowledge Base articles when applicable.Stay knowledgeable about current trends and best practices relating to DAR and advise on impact and software modernization concerns when appropriate.Provide architecture/engineering diagrams and details as requested.Use built-in and custom tools to produce daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for the enterprise.Participate in technical working groups to strategize for future encryption requirements and propose enhancements based on business requirements and proven technology.Provide proactive administration and maintenance of DAR servers and execute backup/recovery procedures when required.Automate tasks and when possible using PowerShell and/or other scripting languages.Become familiar with DoD/DHA DAR policies and provide guidance when necessary.Communicate directly with site admins/customers for troubleshooting and problem resolution.Consistently maintain up to date information in the DAR intranet site such as support documents, FAQs, announcements, etc.
