AVI Human Services LLC is a software company that provides a platform on which government agencies and VR service providers can measure the success of the services they provide to youth with disabilities.

Providing program evaluation in a unique collaboration between MSU and Michigan Rehabilitation Services, as well as with other rehabilitation providers in the state of Michigan. Tasks include• Creating research instruments• Working with large sample databases, including RSA 911 data• Conducting both quantitative and qualitative research analysis• Creating program evaluation reports and monographs

Coordinating teaching of all teaching assistants under the supervision of Dr. Michael Leahy. Coordination includes attending to the immediate training and problem-solving needs of 14-16 teaching assistant instructors, accounting for approximately 22 traditional and online class sections each semester. Tasks include • Managing student enrollments for all courses• Ordering instructor texts• Planning and facilitating monthly teaching assistant meetings• Training new instructors in a three-day teaching orientation• Providing first line of contact for instructors• Managing and organizing an instructor workgroup in an online classroom management system

Taught a total of 14 class sections through Fall 2010, eleven sections as the sole instructor and three sections in either an assistive or shared capacity. Four of the 14 class sections were taught online. Tasks include• Creating a graduate course not previously taught within the rehabilitation counseling program at MSU• Creating and facilitating an online version of a graduate rehabilitation counseling course not previously taught online• Creating several course syllabi• Selecting course text and readings• Planning and teaching of class material• Using multiple methods to assess student learning• Planning and facilitating monthly teaching assistant meetings• Training new instructors in a three-day teaching orientation• Providing first line of contact for instructors• Managing and organizing an instructor workgroup in an online classroom management system

Provided job coach services for a caseload of approximately 15 persons with disabilities in a community rehabilitation organization. Tasks included• Teaching rehabilitation customers job and job search skills • Measuring rehabilitation customers work performance and productivity

Provided preliminary services necessary for the receipt of services in a community rehabilitation organization. Tasks included• Creating and teaching a five week course for rehabilitation customers seeking supervisory or management positions• Interviewing potential rehabilitation customers and assessing need• Maintaining rehabilitation customer files and monitoring for quality assurance
