Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
CurrentProvides counseling and comprehensive rehabilitation services that include the design and implementation of individualized rehabilitation programs to assist individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities in finding and maintaining suitable employment.Interviews applicants, guardians/care providers, advocates, educators, medical professionals and employers to procure medical, psychological, social, personal adjustment, and educational information • Analyzes diagnostic information and functional limitations of physical and mental disabilities in relation to applicants' personal and vocational adjustment by following federal and state regulations to determine the eligibility of applicants • Develops a written individualized rehabilitation plan by identifying objectives, services needed to support the objective, methods to review progress, authorize the purchase of services, equipment, tuition assistance, and supplies• Counsel and case manage 100+ clients to increase self-awareness, identify barriers to employment, practice strategies/skills to increase stabilization and effect positive vocational adjustment
