Responsible for oversight of United States Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training. This includes Introduction to Flight Training (IFT), Undergraduate T-6 training at four Air Force Bases, T-38 training, T-1 training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals (IFF), Undergraduate Helicopter Training, Combat System Operator (CSO) Undergraduate Training, and Pilot Instructor Training (PIT) in all training airframes. Additionally, helping to bring the T-7 into operational capability. Training includes all aspects of academics, immersive training devices, syllabi, flight training, and Air Force Instruction compliance. Over 2,000 students a year in the most dynamic, complex environment possible in order to protect our nation and provide Air Power anywhere in the world.

The wing trains mission-ready special operations, combat search and rescue, nuclear security/support and distinguished visitor aircrew. The wing provides and supports flight instruction in the CV-22, HH-60G, HC-130J, MC-130J, TH-1, and UH-1 aircraft. The wing also conducts Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) training, the qualification training of SERE Specialists, and Undergraduate Pilot Training for all Air Force rotary wing pilots. Colonel Reece oversees the activities of 2,600 Airmen, administering 118 training courses in 32 different crew positions. The wing trains over 15,000 students annually.
