*After spending almost 19 years as a licensed mobile crane operator I became a Business Representative for Local 793 the International Union of Operating Engineers. While there for 4.5 years I negotiated several Agreements with signatory Contractors, assisted members with any issues, conducted meetings of up to 100 people as Chairman of our monthly Cambridge Office membership meetings, working knowledge of the Provincial Collective Agreement along with several Area Agreements, policing jobsites for safety and any member issues, Represented members through the Grievance procedure, assisted the Legal department with information gathering etc. *Then an opportunity arose to take a position still with Local 793 at the Operating Engineers Training Institute of Ontario as an Instructor. Combining my years of crane experience in many sectors such as Nuclear, Construction, Refinery and Hydro work with my 16 years as a Youth Baseball Head Coach was a great fit. I coached two Provincial Championship teams through the Select Ontario Baseball Association.
