Senior Manager Operations Strategy
CurrentI lead strategic business case development for the Wheel and Brake division of Collins Aerospace. I model cash flow and run monte carlo simulations to influence the strategy of executive decision makers. This year we've been heavily focused on expanding our manufacturing capacity. I've owned and led numerous business cases on plant expansion, product outsourcing/insourcing, and strategic NDA studies. Strategic business cases are my favorite type of work and I want to continue leading strategy into the future. This past quarter, I led and completed the business strategy to renew a key contract that leadership was skeptical to renew. I thrive using business metrics and storytelling to influence decision makers and make the best decision.Additionally, as part of my role in operations strategy I lead cost reduction across all manufacturing sites and MRO locations. In the start of this role, there was not a mature standard work of operating procedures. I gathered together all stakeholders and made a framework of cost saving rules and procedures to bring us to success. Additionally I filmed and released a cost saving training video for all managers in our division. This year we've been very successful. Feedback on my performance is that my leadership has put cost reduction in the best position it has ever been in. I led and greatly contributed to the execution of $13M dollars in savings this year (which exceeded our original goal of $10.5M). My business case knowledge also helps in cost saving discussions - as I am able to quickly model the impact of reducing headcount, direct material savings, overhead savings, improving labor/machine efficiency, etc)Headcount wise I indirectly lead and manage other senior managers in finance and operations. I have one direct report. I make great presentations and love public speaking. Recently I completed Cornell's Executive Presence program focused on public speaking & presenting at the highest levels.
