I am passionate about using genetics to help people prevent disease. My clinical work focuses on developing and implementing the best molecular diagnostics to fit a broad range of clinical care settings.My research focuses on making genetics knowledge more available and accessible. I use family-based approaches to prevent genetic disease including cascade screening for hereditary disease prevention and clinical classification of rare variants of uncertain significance. My group has launched ConnectMyVariant, a patient education non-profit company that implements innovative in-person assistance to further its mission to end preventable hereditary disease.
