- Provide holistic support for young people aged 12 to 17 years in a 6-bed long-term children’s residential unit - Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create a safe, nurturing and therapeutically responsive environment which meets the young person’s individual needs by providing daily care, protection and support with daily tasks- Contribute to the development and delivery of therapeutic plans and agreed intervention strategies in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and relevant external professionals and statutory organisations e.g. Field Social Workers, Solicitors, Voypic, Probation Service, PSNI, Guardain Ad Litem’s - Understand the origins, nature and function of trauma-based behaviour and employ key agreed interventions, in line with individual therapeutic plans, to support young people when they present with high-risk behaviours- Lead and actively contribute to team meetings, children’s meetings, core group meetings, care planning meetings/Looked After Review meetings; assume a facilitation role in some meetings when requested- Act as a key worker and work closely with other disciplines to support the young person by making efforts to build a trusting and supportive relationship; take responsibility for co-ordinating all aspects of the Therapeutic Plan in line with their Statutory Care Plan and Placement Plan- Contribute to the accurate maintenance of appropriate records, particularly those detailing observations and/or assessment of the young person and those required to comply with statutory requirements, policies and procedures and provide professional reports
