I served in many roles on the team over the years including Tactical Team Leader, Sniper, and Sniper Team Leader. I branched into the role of planning and instructing the team's training to include firearms and tactics. I was appointed Deputy Team Commander where I served for two years prior to retiring from the team in 2017. The Corporal rank is unique in this agency as it requires the officer on any given day to be a patrol officer, or fill the role of the Sergeant in their absence. The Corporal must bridge the gap between Officer and Supervisor, and be skilled at both positions. I spent 5.5 years during this time as a Corporal as an investigator in the Traffic Unit, specializing in fatal (homicide) cases and crash reconstruction. Maintained a consistent case load at all times between 10-20 cases.
