Returning Officer (Senior Electoral Officer P/T, NSW Electoral Commission)RO - Oberon Council (NSW) By-election, Sep-Oct 2010.Managed Oberon Council (NSW) By-election, to a strict timetable and in accordance with legislative requirements.• Establishment of temporary office. • Select and train staff to work in the RO office and staff employed at polling places on Election Day. • Manage early voting processes and make arrangements for voting on Election Day including all necessary materials and transportation. • Deal with enquiries and nominations from candidates. Deal with public and media in a professional manner.• Count votes, including a preference count, and declaration of the result of the election in accordance with demanding legislative requirements and tight deadlines. • Ensure that the election is conducted in accordance with legislative requirements and NSWEC policies.• Make all necessary arrangements for the payment of staff, and decommissioning of the office.Recent NRM Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting & Improvement (MERI) projects:• Lachlan Catchment Management Authority (LCMA) MERI Framework, MERI User Guide for Staff. • LCMA major project evaluations (Performance Story Reports and Most Significant Change stories).• Workshops & focus groups that have increased the capacity for staff and stakeholders in the application of MERI.• Standards & protocols for data collection, management and reporting • Liaison, negotiation & collaboration with NSW & Aust Government Agencies on NRM & MERI projects.• Liaison, negotiation & collaboration with NGOs & community stakeholders (e.g. GA, Cowra Woodland Birds Project, ANU Sustainable Farms Program).• Project Management (e.g. Ground Nesting Birds project and MERI project)• Project Evaluation – Conservation Farming & Conservation Grazing.Specialties: Ecological Research/Analyses/Consultancy; Management
