Vocational Counsellor
CurrentI provide vocational counselling services to a cross disability client population including individuals with stroke, acquired brain injury, trauma and chronic pain. I provide individual counselling and assist clients to access funding and community resources necessary to support return to work and retraining goals. As counsellor I assist clients to navigate their way through the career decision making process and identify key community, government and agency supports that play a key role in assisting clients to achieve their vocational goals.I utilize a range of vocational assessments including Choices CT, Career Directions Inventory, Career Orientation placement survey, Self Directed Search , Strong Interest Inventory and Differential Aptitude testI bring more than twenty five years of of experience having worked with young offenders, early school leavers and mental health clients transitioning from hospital to community.During this time I have worked closely with with community agencies, insurance companies and employers to facilitate transition into the workplace.
