Manage the Health and Safety at Response Engineering Solutions. Carry out site safety audits with employees working at various quarries, concrete and cement plants in South Wales, South West and South East.Response has three workshops throughout the UK. Hirwaun in South Wales, Cheddar in the South West and Crawley in the South East.

Oversee health and safety at the mine. Produce safe systems of work and risk assessments. Manager of the Mines Rescue at the mine and I am also a keen member of mines rescue team. I was a team member of the initial turnout team at the Gleision Mine Inrush where unfortunately four men lost their lives. I am a member of the Escape and Rescue from Mines working group. Produce and review Emergency Organisation, Health and Safety Policy Document, Explosion Prevention Document, Fire Protection Plan, Major Hazard Management and Competency Management System at the mine.I worked as a retained firefighter with South Wales Fire and Rescue service for 16 years. Completed an Incident Command course at Moreton Fire Service College and spent the last 5 years of my service as a Crew Manager. I regretably had to end my service in 2011 due to work committments at Unity Mine.Finished at Unity due to the company going into administration.

Worked as a retained firefighter at Maesteg Fire Station for 16 years. Completed Incident Command Course at Moreton On The Marsh Fire Service College to gain promotion to Crew Manager.

Oversee day to day production. Supervision of men and carry out safety inspections of district.Suffered an ankle injury whilst carrying out duties as a retained firefighter and used this time to study for and complete a NEBOSH General Certificate.

Initially carry out development work at the mine as a Dosco Mark2B operator then I was a coal face worker on long wall faces.I became a mine rescue brigadesman for the mine in 1990.
